Refund policy
Fourteen days, no ticket: press Refund on the receipt and the money is on its way. Only purchases you already used need a human look.
[ OK ] effective 2026-09-14 · version 1.2
- > Any purchase is refundable within 14 days while it is unused: press Refund on the receipt in Billing and it is issued at once.
- > If a fill fails, the credit it used comes straight back to your account; the purchase stays refundable as if you had never used it.
- > Autopilot: cancel any time in one click. The first charge is refundable within 14 days if Autopilot has not pushed anything; renewals are not refundable.
- > Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, issued through Stripe’s Link (the seller of record): the credit on your statement comes from LINK.COM* RETROFILL and includes any tax you paid.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Nothing in it limits rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the country where you live.
1. One-time purchases (Coffee and Time Machine)
- Coffee ($5 USD) is refundable in full for 14 days from the purchase while its year credit is unspent and no fill has used a credit since. Time Machine ($12 USD) is refundable in full for 14 days while no fill has run since the purchase.
- “Executed a fill” means you pressed EXECUTE and the job completed a push to GitHub using that credit or entitlement. Previewing, painting, running the Contribution Doctor and rerolling as many times as you like do not count — those are free anyway.
- Undoing a fill does not restore refund eligibility for the purchase that paid for it: the work was done and the repository was pushed. Undo is there so you can change your mind about the graph, not about the bill.
- After 14 days one-time purchases are not refundable, except as described in section 2.
2. Failed fills
- If a fill fails during the push, the credit or free fill it used is restored to your account automatically, so you can try again. A failed fill does not count as executing one: the purchase that paid for it remains refundable under section 1, and the Refund button in Billing issues that refund at once. You do not need to contact us.
- If GitHub changes its rules or how contributions are counted in a way that makes a purchase unusable, we will refund purchases that can no longer be used, regardless of the 14-day window.
- A fill that completes but whose squares take time to appear is not a failed fill; GitHub documents up to 24 hours. If they never appear, press Request refund on the receipt (or email support@retrofill.dev) — we will look at the job log with you and refund if the fault is ours.
3. Autopilot subscriptions
- Autopilot is billed in advance, monthly ($3.99) or yearly ($29), and renews automatically until cancelled.
- Cancel any time from Billing, in one click, with no email required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; Autopilot commits stop then and you keep the Time Machine features until then. Changed your mind before then? “Keep Autopilot” undoes the cancellation.
- The first charge of a new subscription is refundable in full within 14 days if Autopilot has not pushed any commit for you in that time. That refund is issued the moment you press Refund on the receipt, and Autopilot stops immediately.
- Renewals are not refundable. Your renewal date is always visible in Billing; cancel before it to avoid the next charge. If you cancel within 24 hours after a renewal and Autopilot pushed nothing during that period, press Request refund on the renewal receipt in Billing and we will refund it as a courtesy.
- Commits Autopilot already pushed stay in the repository unless you undo them from History.
4. The free fill
Previewing is free, and one fill of up to 7 days and 20 commits is free. There is nothing to refund, and a failed free fill is simply available again.
5. How to get a refund
- Open Billing and press Refund on the receipt. If the purchase qualifies under this policy, the refund is issued that second, with no form and no reason required.
- If it does not qualify (you already used it, it is older than 14 days, or it is a renewal), the same button becomes Request refund. Tell us what happened if you like; we reply within two business days and either refund it or explain why not, right on the receipt.
- Prefer email? Write to support@retrofill.dev with your GitHub login and we will handle it the same way.
- Refunds go to the original payment method. Banks and card issuers typically show them within 5–10 business days.
- A refunded one-time purchase removes the corresponding credit or entitlement from your account. A refunded Autopilot charge ends the subscription immediately.
- If your purchase earned the person who invited you a year credit, a refund takes that credit back while it is unspent. Once they have used it, your refund goes through a request instead of being issued on the spot.
- A credit held by a fill you planned but never started counts as unspent: the refund releases it, and that fill has to be paid for again before it runs (or discard it from History).
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank: an eligible refund from us is faster than a dispute and avoids fees for both of us. Accounts with a chargeback that we had already offered to refund may lose access to paid features once the dispute is resolved.
7. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date at the top changes when we do. The policy in force when you made a purchase applies to that purchase.
